November is Make a Will Month
More than half of adult Canadians do not have a Last Will and Testament*, and 61% of Canadians say they never talked about estate planning with their late parents.*
It’s time to have that talk: We are excited to announce the launch of Make a Will month 2015! This November, the Ontario Bar Association has partnered with the Alzheimer Society of Ontario to help Ontarians preserve their wishes and safeguard their loved ones by making a will.
If you do not have a Will, immediately after your death no one is authorized to deal with important issues such as making funeral arrangements, handling your business or protecting your savings. Without a Will, your estate is divided according to legislation and may not benefit the people you wish to look after.
Whether you’re planning your own estate or encouraging a loved one, take action and make a Will now, so you can rest assured later.
“The Alzheimer Society Estate Planner allows you to easily gather the information required for your legal advisor to create a legally sound and complete Will, while also noting the fond memories you have of your life.
